Acceptable Use Policy

1. Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of messaging services, platform access, APIs, and related infrastructure provided by SBS TELECOM Limited ("SBS TELECOM", "we", "us"). By accessing or using the SBS TELECOM platform, you agree to comply with this policy. This AUP forms part of the terms and conditions applicable to your use of our services.
2. Permitted Use
The SBS TELECOM platform may be used for lawful business communications, including but not limited to:
- Transactional and service notifications to opted-in users
- One-time passwords and authentication messages
- Appointment reminders and operational alerts
- Marketing communications with proper consent and opt-out mechanisms
- Enterprise bulk messaging campaigns compliant with applicable regulations
- Resale of messaging services under the SBS TELECOM partner programme
3. Prohibited Uses
The following uses of the SBS TELECOM platform are strictly prohibited:
3.1 Unsolicited Messaging (Spam)
Sending unsolicited commercial messages to recipients who have not provided explicit consent, or sending messages that violate applicable anti-spam legislation including the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and equivalent international regulations.
3.2 Phishing and Fraud
Using the platform to conduct phishing attacks, identity fraud, impersonation of legitimate organisations, or any form of deceptive messaging designed to obtain personal data, financial information, or access credentials from recipients.
3.3 Illegal Content
Transmitting any content that is unlawful under UK law or the laws of the recipient's country, including but not limited to content promoting illegal activities, content that is defamatory, obscene, or that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
3.4 Unauthorised Messaging
Sending messages using sender IDs, brand names, or originator addresses that you do not have the legal right to use, or impersonating any person, organisation, or government body in message content or sender fields.
3.5 Harmful or Abusive Content
Transmitting content that harasses, threatens, intimidates, or abuses recipients, or that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence against any individual or group.
3.6 Platform Abuse
Attempting to circumvent platform rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions; conducting denial-of-service attacks; exploiting vulnerabilities; or interfering with the operation of the platform or other customers' services.
4. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring that all use of the SBS TELECOM platform by you and any sub-accounts or end users under your account complies with this AUP, applicable laws and regulations, and the terms of your agreement with SBS TELECOM. This includes maintaining appropriate consent records for recipient opt-in, providing compliant opt-out mechanisms, and ensuring message content meets applicable standards.
5. Enforcement
SBS TELECOM reserves the right to investigate suspected violations of this AUP. Where a violation is identified or reasonably suspected, we may take any of the following actions without prior notice:
- Suspend or throttle the relevant account or sub-account
- Block specific message flows, sender IDs, or destination numbers
- Terminate account access where serious or repeated violations occur
- Report violations to relevant regulatory authorities where required by law
- Cooperate with law enforcement investigations
6. Reporting Abuse
If you believe you have received unsolicited, fraudulent, or abusive messages sent via the SBS TELECOM platform, or if you wish to report a suspected violation of this policy, please contact our abuse team at abuse@sbstelecom.co.uk. We take all abuse reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
7. Changes to This Policy
SBS TELECOM may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, industry standards, or our platform capabilities. Continued use of the platform following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
